An action-packed Venom 3 fan poster puts Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man up against Tom Hardy’s Venom. After starring in two The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Garfield returned as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hardy also appeared as Eddie Brock in the film, though only in its post-credits scene, where Venom returned to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe without ever meeting Spider-Man.

On Instagram, artist @marvels.wolverine imagined an exciting story for Venom 3, with a fight between Garfield’s Spider-Man and Hardy’s Venom.

Hardy’s Eddie Brock was last seen asking around for information on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. While it seems like Marvel and Sony are setting up the two to meet, Garfield could be used instead of Holland in Venom 3 or other projects, which would perhaps be an even more exciting choice for a few reasons.

Why Andrew Garfield Being Sony’s Spider-Man Would Be Perfect

Ever since he returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel fans have been asking for Garfield to get the chance to conclude his trilogy as Peter Parker with The Amazing Spider-Man 3. However, a new solo Spider-Man movie for Garfield might prove confusing due to Holland being set to continue in the MCU with Spider-Man 4 and more. That is where Sony’s Spider-Man Universe comes in.

The SSU is the perfect place for Garfield to continue as Spider-Man. While the SSU includes Spider-Man villains like Venom, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter, Peter Parker has yet to debut. It seemed like things were working out in a way where Holland’s Spider-Man would fill that role; however, with Hardy’s Venom being sent back to the SSU and a piece of the symbiote staying behind in the MCU, Marvel is now able to do its own version of the Black Suit storyline without the SSU or Holland appearing in Venom 3.

Based on the new wave of fans that Garfield has gained after his Spider-Man return, Sony could make The Amazing Spider-Man universe the same one as the SSU. Garfield’s Spider-Man movies and Hardy’s Venom films have a similar tone, and with no major differences between both franchises, the merger would be somewhat smooth. This way, the SSU could get its Spider-Man, the MCU could keep Holland for itself, and Garfield could keep appearing as Spider-Man in supporting roles instead of having a solo film and possibly causing audience confusion. While there are multiple options, it remains to be seen if Venom 3 will include Spider-Man at all.
