- Spider-Man hasn’t officially met Thor and Hulk, the only two original Avengers who are still active in the MCU.
- Avengers: Secret Wars provides the perfect opportunity for Spider-Man to finally meet Thor and Hulk on-screen.
- The uncertain future of the MCU and its characters makes Secret Wars potentially the last chance to introduce Spider-Man to Thor and Hulk.
Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to bring together all the current active heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making it the perfect opportunity for Spider-Man to finally meet two of the original Avengers. Despite being one of the most popular and beloved characters from Marvel Comics, it took a couple of years for Spider-Man to be officially introduced in the MCU. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man made his debut in Captain America: Civil War before starring in his first solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, so the MCU skipped his origin story.
Spider-Man was brought into the MCU thanks to Tony Stark, who recruited the young hero for his side of the battle in Civil War. Spider-Man met some of the original Avengers at the battle at the Leipzig-Halle Airport in Civil War, and he later fought alongside other MCU heroes in Avengers: Infinity War and the whole MCU roster at the time in Avengers: Endgame. However, there are two original Avengers that Spider-Man hasn’t properly met, and Avengers: Secret Wars is the perfect chance for this long-awaited meeting.
Avengers: Secret Wars: Release Date, Plot Details & Everything We Know
The culmination of phases 4, 5, and 6 of the MCU will be in Avengers: Secret Wars. Here’s everything to know about the sixth Avengers movie.
Avengers: Secret Wars Sets Up A Perfect Chance For Spider-Man To Meet Thor & Hulk On-Screen
When Spider-Man joined Team Iron Man in Civil War, he met Black Widow as she was originally part of Team Iron Man, and met Captain America and Hawkeye, who were on the opposite team. In Infinity War, Spider-Man met Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and given how massive the Battle of Earth in Endgame was, he didn’t properly meet the rest of the MCU’s heroes, though he did get to introduce himself to Captain Marvel. Spider-Man, then, hasn’t officially met Thor and Hulk, the only two original Avengers who remain active.
Although all the Avengers and other MCU heroes were present at Tony Stark’s funeral in Endgame, Spider-Man hasn’t formally met Thor and Hulk on-screen.
Thor and Hulk were the only original Avengers who weren’t present during the Civil War conflict as both left Earth at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron – Thor to continue his research on the Infinity Stones and Hulk for the safety of his fellow Avengers. The next big opportunity for Spider-Man to meet Hulk and Thor is Avengers: Secret Wars, as even though plot details haven’t been revealed, the title implies that all of the MCU’s current heroes will be brought together to fight a massive threat.
Why Avengers: Secret Wars Might Be The Last Time The MCU Could Introduce Spider-Man To Thor & Hulk
Avengers: Secret Wars might bring major changes to the MCU and its multiverse. This makes the future of all current MCU heroes unknown, as Secret Wars could see the deaths of many heroes, as well as either the end of the multiverse or the creation of a new timeline, allowing the MCU to recast various characters and bring many others to life. Because of how uncertain the future of the MCU and its characters is, Secret Wars might be the last chance this universe has to introduce Spider-Man to Thor and Hulk.
As no one remembers Peter Parker after Spider-Man: No Way Home, introducing these three characters shouldn’t be a problem, and it might even be a huge relief and support for Peter to have the two remaining original Avengers on his side. Given the sense of humor of Spider-Man, Thor, and Hulk, and the fun dynamic between the latter two, bringing them together in Avengers: Secret Wars can be one of the best parts of the movie and the Multiverse Saga as a whole.
Avengers: Secret Wars
Avengers: Secret Wars is the sixth Avengers film and takes place during phase six of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. The film will see several heroes from the prior phases return and battle against a cosmic threat to rival Thanos, and borrows elements of the Marvel Comics event of the same name.
