- Peter Parker is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man 4, with the possibility of teaming up with Daredevil and Punisher.
- The fan artwork for Spider-Man 4 shows the three superheroes wearing black suits, including Peter finally donning his black Symbiote costume.
- Spider-Man 4 could potentially explore the street-level side of the MCU and feature other characters from The Defenders, providing a fresh direction for the web-slinger.
Peter Parker joins forces with Daredevil and Punisher in a Spider-Man 4 fan poster while the three Marvel Cinematic Universe superheroes get black suits. The adventures of Spider-Man in the MCU are far from over, as Tom Holland’s version of the web-crawler is coming back to the franchise. Following the massive success behind Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are working on Spider-Man 4, as the start of a new sequel trilogy for Holland’s hero.
For the time being, Spider-Man 4 has not landed a release date yet as the MCU movie hasn’t tapped a new director yet nor does it have a script. While the world is speculating what the sequel will focus on, Arifinity_ shared artwork for Spider-Man 4, where Holland’s Peter comes together with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, with the latter two set to reunite in Daredevil: Born Again.
The Spider-Man 4 artwork sees Peter finally getting his black Symbiote costume, following the big tease in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Daredevil and Punisher are also spotted in black costumes, with Frank Castle having a War Machine-esque Punisher armor, while Matt Murdock gets his other black suit from the comics.
Could Daredevil & Punisher Be In Spider-Man 4?
While the MCU audience is predicting Spider-Man 4 will actually be about, the artwork begs the question of whether or not Daredevil and Punisher could actually be in the next movie. Currently, Cox and Bernthal’s characters are on a break as Daredevil: Born Again is getting re-developed from scratch after Marvel Studios decided to go through with its overhaul. However, because Daredevil: Born Again is getting retooled, it could be the perfect opportunity to set the show up to lead directly into Spider-Man 4.
One of the big directions that Kevin Feige has talked about for Daredevil and Spider-Man is that they will be leading the street-level side of the MCU. With Peter being on his own after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man 4 could organically have the web-slinger engage more with street-level heroes like Daredevil, Punisher, and even other members of The Defenders. Since Spider-Man was even a member of The Defenders in the comics, seeing him be part of that type of team would be a fresh direction after his initial Avengers journey.
Spider-Man 4 could be the proper MCU project where other The Defenders characters come back alongside Daredevil and Punisher. What is also interesting, at this point, is whether or not Spider-Man 4 will even happen within The Multiverse Saga or instead take place in Phase 7. Hopefully, once the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, new updates will emerge about Spider-Man 4 and clarify when Peter’s next adventure will actually happen.
