• Major villain Bullseye returns in “Daredevil: Born Again,” setting the stage for the bloodiest battle in the MCU.
  • The cast of “Daredevil: Born Again” is stacked with return appearances, including Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.
  • Bringing back Bullseye allows the MCU to fulfill a previous tease and adds an unpredictable element to the franchise’s street-level corner.

Daredevil: Born Again will see a major villain from the original Netflix series return, and that could lead to the bloodiest battle that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen. According to a new bombshell report, Daredevil: Born Again is bringing back Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye. It has yet to be seen how Bullseye will fit into Daredevil: Born Again, though another report has claimed that Bullseye will be in three episodes of the Daredevil series.

Daredevil: Born Again‘s cast features many exciting returns from the original Netflix show, with even Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson now reportedly returning for the MCU TV show. Those changes come after Marvel Studios paused production on the series to rework the show, which was said to initially have been more akin to a legal procedural than the action-heavy series that was Netflix’s Daredevil. The story of Daredevil: Born Again is now being overseen by The Punisher writer Dario Scardapane. That, alongside Bullseye’s return, could lead to the MCU’s bloodiest battle.

The MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again Is Looking Even More Like A Proper Daredevil Season 4

Following another exciting character return, the MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again is looking more and more like a proper fourth season of the Netflix show.

Bullseye & Punisher Returning To The MCU Would Set Up A Truly Spectacular Battle

A long time before Bethel’s Bullseye was reported to return for Daredevil: Born Again, it was revealed that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in the Disney+ series. Between his appearances in Netflix’s Daredevil and The Punisher series, Bernthal’s Punisher cemented himself as one of the most violent live-action Marvel characters. Unlike Daredevil, the Punisher is not afraid to kill anyone who gets in his way, and Frank Castle has been shown to do just that with as much fighting, shooting, and maiming as possible.

Like Bernthal’s Punisher, Bethel’s Bullseye is also one of the most violent characters in the MCU. With the anti-hero and the villain now set to return in Daredevil: Born Again, there is a decent chance that both will cross paths, and there is no way that would happen without a lot of blood getting spilled. As Daredevil: Born Again‘s new showrunner was a writer on The Punisher, Bernthal’s character could have an even bigger role in the series than was originally planned, and a major fight with Bullseye would be the best use of the show’s likely TV-MA rating.

Why The MCU Needs Bullseye To Return To The MCU

Daredevil season 3 ended with a tease of Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter fully becoming Bullseye, which was never followed through due to the series’ cancellation. By bringing back Bullseye, the MCU can pay off that tease, allowing Bethel to don the villain’s classic comic book costume and become the deranged character that Bullseye is known as. Bullseye could also play a key role in Daredevil: Born Again, as the villain has unfinished business with both Daredevil and Kingpin, which could make him an unpredictable element of the MCU’s street-level corner in Daredevil: Born Again and beyond.
